Barbara Sher's Wishcraft

With Barbara's suggestions in mind (making a five-year plan for your goals), two years ago I drew up a four-year plan to finish backpacking the Pacific Crest Trail. This is a 2,650 mile trail that makes its way from Mexico to Canada through the highest mountains of California, Oregon, and Washington. My husband and I had already completed about 900 miles, but since he was then in his 70s and I was in my mid-sixties, we decided we better get moving!

Sixteen hundred divided by 4 is 400 miles per year, of course, so that became our plan. We are a bit ahead of schedule with now 1,900 miles completed. We hope to be celebrating our completion of the PCT at the Canadian border in 2010.

Thanks, Barbara, for your inspiration!

Barbara Sher changed my life big time!
My dream - about 16 years ago - was to go into the war zones of Nicaragua and El Salvador and help protect innocent civilians- mostly peasants - who were being attacked by death squads and the military. Wishcraft showed me the way. Off and on during a ten year period - I went to Central America on emergency missions to help protect Salvadoran farmworks and human rights workers who were on the death squad hit lists. I had many adventures and met the most courageous people during that period. I was caught in a shoot out between the guerillas and the military and I was arrested by Salvadoran soldiers for interfering in the internal affairs of El Salvadoar. Best of all, I was able to help lead a march of hundreds of peasants back into the war zone to recapture their lands from the military - unarmed. We did it! The community is still there today - although some members were killed in the months following the land takeover.

I am so glad that I had the courage to follow my dream to strike a blow for justice in the world.

Later, I fought my own battle with cancer - and I won. I am now passing on the hope to others through leading Success Teams.
Much love to you Barbara for changing our lives!
Wen
